Nice article. I am a longtime BofA checking and credit customer, though I've only ever used the card for overdraft protection. I have watched the terms change on my Chase and CapitalOne cards rendering them useless. Even one of my Citi cards had a rate jump. My BofA card, on the other hand, I renegotiated DOWN not long before the financial crisis and it has remained at that rate throughout. It's also by far my highest limit card.

I've been burned by their checking fees in the past, but I've also talked my way out of some, so I can't say they are all bad on that front. And according to this marketing language they seem to have decided the friendly route is the way to go in the face of credit reform. I will stick with them for now.

Bank of America is the worst bank. They are not even on your side when you call. Multiple times I called to have a charge removed by a merchant or why the website isn't working and I get I am sorry I cannot help you.

One time they even went out of the way to say the merchant was correct on a charge when later on a merchant came BACK to me saying they were sorry about it. They didn't even fight it! They are my bank and they refused to? So you know what, they are not for consumers, any more than the rest of them.
