Weekly Round Up
And so another week ends! On the bright side, my phone comes out tomorrow…woohoo! I’ve been lusting after this phone for about 6 months now, no thanks to FB over at Fabulously Broke. One of my favorite blogs, but FB shares way too many shiny electronics that get girls like me in a lot of trouble! Still, I want the Palm Pre!
So dear readers, what do you think? Should I wait? Or should I get it now? Do you think it will go down in price? $199.99 isn’t that bad for a smartphone of this caliber, but then again, it could very well go down even further.
On that note, let’s get on with the round up. Awesome links as always and I hope you enjoy this week’s selection.
Nicole @ Breaking Even asks how far you would go for a discount. In her experience at an inn that she works for, people are quite shameless in their pursuit of a discount and it’s interesting behavior to analyze. So, how far would you go?
Clever Dude had a great question from a reader about whether or not you can avoid a bill by closing your checking account. I gave a brief answer in the comments and fully intend on writing my own post related to this within the next week or so. But, again, it’s an interesting study of human character when you consider that someone wants to get out of paying a bill so they purposely close their accounts. Not that CD’s reader did this, but it has been done before. I get lots of people trying thist little stunt.
Living Almost Large asked whether or not you tip for takeout. Mostly I say no, unless I sit at the bar with a drink while I’m waiting. But, I think tipping is getting out of hand and companies are pushing the responsibility to pay their employees off on us. What do you think? Be sure to check it out and leave a comment!
J. Money @ Budgets are $exy gave some great tips on having summer fun on the cheap…for both kids and adults (wink wink, nudge nudge.) Interesting stuff, and it promises to be a very entertaining summer!
Nickel @ Five Cent Nickel offers up some tips on paying the mortgage off early. Most of these you may have heard of, but there’s a few in there that could be new and completely doable for you. Be sure to check out the tips in the comments, too!
Hope you enjoy the links and have a great weekend! The weather here in Texas is supposed to be sunny and hot…perfect for lounging around by the pool with a good book! Can’t wait!
Happy Reading!
