Hilary Still A Possible Candidate For VP???
I was reading the news over at USA Today
Anyway, what I found most interesting about this piece was the comments. Someone brought up the Whitewater issue, in which the Clinton’s were accused of a lot of things when a real estate venture that Bill and Hillary were partners on went insolvent. There were documents missing at the time that were later found at the White House, accusations of the misuse of campaign funds, just a whole slew of things went into that. Then there was the fact that their attorney during the buyout of their shares became a White House counsel for Clinton and then committed suicide in 1993.
It’s interesting that Clinton should be concerned with taxpayers now when she clearly wasn’t as concerned then. But, people grow and change. That’s not what this post is about, I just thought it was interesting. This post is about another comment that I find a little disturbing and hope it’s nothing more than ridiculous internet hype.
One commenter said that they found an article online…they didn’t know where or by whom, which makes me question the validity of it anyway, but I still thought it was interesting for supposition. So, here’s what the commenter over at USA Today posted:
“On or about October 5th, Biden will excuse himself from the ticket, citing
health problems, and he will be replaced by Hillary. This is timed to occur
after the VP debate on 10/2.
There have been talks all weekend about how to proceed with this info.
Generally, the feeling is that we should all go ahead and get it out there
to as many blog sites and personal email lists as is possible. I have
already seen a few short blurbs about this – the ‘health problem’ cited in
those articles was aneurysm. Probably many of you have heard the same
rumblings.
However, at this point, with this inside info from the DNC, it looks like
this Obama strategy will be a go. Therefore, it seems that the best
strategy is to get out in front of this Obama maneuver, spell it out in
detail, and thereby expose it for the grand manipulation that it is.”
Ok, for the sake of argument, let’s say Obama does this. Do you think it will be a good move? Was this the plan from the beginning, just to draw out McCain’s VP selection? Or are you of the opinion that this is ridiculous and, while Obama is certainly capable of such manipulation, he’s not going to do it at this point in the game?
I don’t know how I feel about it. I think I’d be irritated at the shenanigans in the campaign, but I prefer Hillary to Biden and certainly to Palin, so I’m not opposed to seeing her on the ticket. But, I think the dirty politics would leave a bad taste in my mouth. I’m interested to see how these debates go for sure, and I’m curious to know if Obama considered this tactic when McCain put Palin on the ticket next to him – which was an ingenious move for their camp. Even still, I don’t believe this “insider’s news” to be true.
What do you guys think?

It’s a rumor, and a stupid one at that. I can’t believe people are actually trying to report on it.
There is no chance. Let rumors be rumors, eh?
Oh, I agree it’s completely ridiculous….but what if? That’s the fun of blogs. I’m not saying I believe it, but I do think it’s an interesting concept to consider. Because IF it did happen, we all know that it would be a manipulation. I think if Obama were stupid enough to do it, he’d lose a lot of support. I could be wrong. There were a lot of people that supported Hillary, so who knows. But, I’m interested in conjecture here.
Completely ridiculous indeed. No way that’s going to happen.
On a slightly different note, I’m incredibly irritated with the McCain campaign for thinking that all they had to do was pick a woman veep candidate and magically win all of us females over. I think Obama could have gone that route but didn’t (and won’t now). All the more reason why he has my vote.
