Kristy’s Weekly Roundup: The Humor Edition

In tribute to Bernie Mac, I’m dedicating my roundup to the offbeat this week. These are some of the funniest posts out there, not all deal with finance, but every once in a while, we just need a good laugh!

Enjoy!

- One of my favorite, non-financial websites is 15 Minute Lunch. I don’t get the opportunity to share the subtle nuances of Johnny’s humor often, so I’m taking the time to do so now. Check out his post, Random Stuff and tell me what you think. Maybe I’m crazy, but he makes the work day a little more interesting!

- This next I share with you only after a word of warning. It IS NOT for the easily offended, faint of heart, or well, easily offended. However, it’s right up Bernie Mac’s alley. Chelle B at The Offended Blogger talks about one of her favorite expletives and what it could possibly mean. Funny stuff, but like I said, don’t read it if you’re easily offended.

- Leigh over at Leighonline had a nice rant about rush hour traffic. Finally, someone understands my frustration and my anger and why I just want to ram into the person in front of me going 60 miles in the left hand lane! And yes, I have a bit of road rage, but so what? *sniffs indignantly*

Ok, I’ve had my laughing fun, now to the real roundup lest Jonathan thinks I’ve taken leave of my senses. Come to think of it, he probably already does…

- Ginger over at Girls Just Wanna Have Funds had an interesting post on waiting to have a baby until your finances are in order. While the post makes very valid points, I still had to laugh. Not because of anything Ginger said, I agree completely; but because I get the same questions – and I’m not married! Fortunately for me, my mom’s not ready to be a grandmother so I have a little support in taking my time!

- Living Almost Large had a rather amusing post – rant I should say – about tipping. Personally, I could care less whether people think I’m cheap or not, if I don’t receive good service, the service provider doesn’t receive a good tip – period! But, if I’m treated well and have a pleasant server, I’ve been known to tip 40-50%. Positive reinforcement and all that.

- Flexo at Consumerism Commentary asks the very valid question of whether or not you should contribute money for a coworker who went through elective cosmetic surgery. ‘Get well’ gifts are common in the workplace, but for this? I say no, but the idea was still funny.

- Budgets are Sexy has a weird post on charging to use public bathrooms. Here’s to hoping no one ever puts BAS in charge of public bathroom usage, business man or not!

Ok, that’s all I’ve got time to be reading this week. I’ve got plenty of stuff to do and never any time to finish it in, so it’s back to work for me. Hope you enjoyed the bit of humor!
