So it’s been a long week for me and I’m glad it’s over. It’s now my time to sit back and read what everyone else has written and I’ve found some interesting things out there. Here’s what’s on my reading list this weekend. Enjoy!

Penelope over at Our Fourpence Worth talks about the new proposal from Gov. Schwarzenegger to impose a surcharge on ALL California home and property owners to help firefighting efforts. While I’m all about being charitable to those in need, I have to agree with Penelope’s stance. I’d write a letter for you, Penelope, but I don’t think a lone Texas girl would be much help. Then again…most people don’t mess with Texans, hehe.

Jeremy Simon over at Creditcards.com talks about the trouble an NFL player got into over cocaine and credit cards. Sorry, but celebrity gossip is a bit of a weakness…especially when it’s weird. Great post Jeremy!

Ms. Antishay shares a great post on how the secret to success – particularly when it comes to debt - is perseverance. It’s got a great message and, frankly, after this week, something I needed to be reminded of. Thanks for the great post!

Tricia at Blogging Away Debt talks about saving money on groceries. What I loved about this post was the fact that I’m not the only one struggling to give up sodas. My heart goes out to you Tricia, but, I’m sorry to say that I’m glad I’m not alone!

The guys over at Motley Fool have an interesting piece on why you DON’T deserve retirement. Well, it’s certainly a new approach to our way of thinking!

Michael at Money Musings talks about the value in comfort. He’s trading off a little in debt interest to keep peace of mind by having money in his savings. I’d be very interested to know what our readers think of this idea!
